The Swan Bay Rediscovery Program camps are typically 8 days long and are based out of Swan Bay using our Zodiac Hurricane to explore the surrounding areas. Each camp includes a combination of Haida Cultural teachings and activities designed to provide an experience of Haida Cultural immersion and life skills to build confidence, knowledge and self-esteem.

Swan Bay offers a variety of different camps, such as: Pre-Teen Camps, Teen Camps, Leadership Camps, Haida Language Camps, Canoe Journey and Family Camps.

Camp activities can include:

  • Games

  • Singing and story telling

  • Nightly fire circle

  • Haida history, culture, art and language

  • Harvesting food and cooking

  • Hiking and survival skills

  • Paddling and swimming

  • Voyages to Ancient Haida village sites

  • Wildlife viewing and so much more...

July 3 - 10: Pre-Teen Camp
July 10 - 17: Teen Camp – Mount Yatza Trip
July 17 - 24: Teen Camp – Food Gathering Session
August 7 - 14: Pre-Teen Camp
August 26 - 30: Leadership Camp (by invitation only)

Program Disclaimer – although there is no minimum participant registration, we do reserve the right to cancel a camp due to significantly low registration.
